Ing. Isaac Boakye Aduenin is the Senior Manager – Engineering at AngloGold Ashanti’s Iduapriem Mine. He has over 27 years’ experience during which time he has had senior management roles in the extractive sector, including several stints as Acting Managing Director of Iduapriem. Isaac joined the mine in September 2002 as Engineering Superintendent – Mechanical and rose through the ranks to his current position in June 2013. He began his career with Obuasi Mine in 1994 as Technical Assistant – Engineering and left as Engineering Superintendent in August 2002.
Isaac holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Practice from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (first class honours) from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. He is a corporate member of the Ghana Institution of Engineering and holds Engineering Manager Certificate of Competence (EMC/007/12) from the Inspectorate Division of the Minerals Commission, Ghana. Isaac is credited with several achievements in the engineering field, including creation of a reliable plant to move production capacity from 4.3Mtpa to 5.3Mtpa and the development of planned maintenance software for two identical brewery companies, the then Guinness Ghana and Kumasi Brewery Companies in 1993.
Isaac is married and blessed with two children. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing lawn tennis, reading, watching movies and soccer.
