Senior Manager – Health, Safety and Environment

Samuel Koffie has over 19 years of progressive experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental management systems with large corporations across the Telecom and Mining industries. He is currently the Senior Manager – Health, Safety and Environment at AngloGold Ashanti’s Iduapriem Mine. Prior to joining Iduapriem, Samuel worked with Ghana Bauxite Company Limited, Newmont Ghana, Vodafone Ghana, and AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi mine in various capacities and leadership roles.

Samuel is a multi-award winning HSE professional. He was the 2009 recipient of the Newmont Corporate Executive Leadership Award for Leadership in Safety Management, the Vodafone Corporate Excellence in Safety Award in 201, and of AngloGold Ashanti’s Global Safety and Zero Harm awards in 2014 and 2015. Samuel is an accredited lead tutor for the UK National Examination Board for Safety and Health (NEBOSH) International Diploma programme.

He has B.Sc. in Natural Resource Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, an International Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from NEBOSH and an M.Sc. in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Portsmouth University, UK.

He is married with two boys and two girls and enjoys listening to gospel music during his leisure time.
